We're seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Senior Embedded Linux Engineer passionate about making the world a safer place to join our team. This role offers a fantastic opportunity for someone eager to collaborate and grow with experienced engineers, contributing to the development of our camera firmware and implementing advanced features in embedded Linux using modern C++.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Feature Development: Lead the charge in designing, implementing, and validating next-generation features for our dashcam experience, including advanced video analytics, sensor fusion, embedded AI models, and a variety of communication protocols on the embedded Linux platform.
System-Wide Impact: Work cross-functionally with hardware, server, and client teams to craft seamless end-to-end solutions, ensuring optimal performance and integration.
Architectural Leadership: Take ownership of the integration process for new cameras and environments, making critical architectural decisions within the embedded Linux system that drive the product forward.
Team collaboration: Engage in dynamic design and code reviews, and collaborate closely with product managers, developers, and QA to fine-tune and perfect our camera technology.
Leadership: Ability to lead and mentor junior engineers, fostering growth and collaboration.
REQUIREMENTS
Technical skills & qualifications
5-10 years of hands-on experience as an Embedded Linux Engineer, tackling real-world challenges.
Strong proficiency in modern C++ development, specifically in embedded Linux environments.
Experience with complex systems integration, firmware, server, mobile, and web components.
Understanding embedded Linux internals, including kernel modules, debugging, and performance optimization.
Knowledge in network protocols (WiFi, BLE, LTE, TCP/UDP), video/audio streaming, and multithreaded programming in embedded contexts.
Experience with Yocto, Buildroot, or creating custom embedded Linux distributions.
Bachelor's or higher degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
